My name is Kimberly, and I take movies too personally…

It’s easy to think of movies simply as a retreat, as a place to hide when the world gets to be too much. But movies and TV have a lot of roles to play, especially in 2020, ie. the end of the fucking world. If you were holding out for the locusts, fine, but I’m calling it, we’re in the end times.

Which is exactly why movies matter so much right now! Besides the fact that the media we’ve made over the last decade will be the first the thing the alien archaeologists discover of our lost civilization, who knows, movies might just save us.

Media can reflect back to us the ills and triumphs of society. They inspire humanity in us even when every newscast tells us that the human race is incapable of it. Movies make us laugh in the face of tragedy and give us the courage to push past it. And they can be dumb and fun.

This blog believes that movies can save the world. It believes that if we can empathize with Darth Vader by the end of Return of the Jedi, then a Fox News viewer can empathize with a BLM activist. This blog believes we are not past the point of no return. We just need enough good movies to bring us back over the brink.
